Bulgarians in Canada Can Submit Applications to Vote in the October 25 Elections

Important for Bulgarian citizens in Canada: The electronic application form for voting at an overseas polling station for the upcoming elections for President and Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria is now available.

The elections will take place on October 25, 2026.

Bulgarian citizens living in Canada who wish to exercise their right to vote can pre-register the specific overseas polling station where they wish to cast their ballot.

The application can be submitted electronically via the official website of the Central Election Commission (CEC):

When filling out the form, you will need to specify the country and the location where you wish to vote. For larger cities, you may also specify a particular district or neighborhood.

Electronic applications can be submitted until September 29, 2026, at 24:00 (midnight) Bulgarian time.

These applications are crucial for organizing the election process outside Bulgaria. Among other things, they are used to establish polling stations—provided the required number of applications for a specific location is met—and to compile the voter lists.

The CEC has already published a list of locations where overseas polling stations will be established in accordance with the relevant procedures. If you wish to vote in Canada, it is recommended that you **do not wait until the last minute** but submit your application as soon as possible.

To submit the application, you need the details from a valid Bulgarian identity document.

Once your electronic application has been successfully submitted and accepted, **you do not need to submit a paper version** of the same application to a Bulgarian diplomatic or consular mission.
